WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 -- Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, has introduced legislation (S. 4789) to amend the Communications Act of 1934 "to provide funding to States for extending broadband service to unserved areas in partnership with broadband service providers."
The bill was introduced on Oct. 1 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. It was referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
