WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 -- Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has introduced legislation (S. 3181) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to expand the new markets tax credit to assist Native American communities."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 9 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, Mazie K. Hirono, D-Hawaii, and Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
