WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 -- Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., has introduced legislation (S. 2776) to "impose sanctions with respect to foreign persons who engage in the hostage-taking or wrongful detention of U.S. citizens or aliens lawfully admitted for permanent residence."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 5 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Josh Hawley, R-Mo. It was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
