WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 -- Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., has introduced legislation (S. 2495) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to establish an exception to the penalty on early distributions from qualified plans for individuals diagnosed with certain terminal illnesses."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 18 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
