Washington, Sept. 10 -- Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., has introduced legislation (S. 2444) to "establish a minimum staffing level of U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers along the northern border."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 9 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Patrick J. Leahy, D-Vt., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H. It was referred to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
