WASHINGTON, July 20 -- Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., has introduced legislation (S. 2186) to "require entities to provide consumers with the opportunity to prohibit the entity from collecting or using certain data concerning the consumer and to request deletion of such data."
The bill was introduced on July 18. It was referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
