WASHINGTON, July 20 -- Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, D-Vt., has introduced legislation (S. 2180) to "provide oversight of the border zone in which Federal agents may conduct vehicle checkpoints and stops and enter private land without a warrant, and to make technical corrections."
The bill was introduced on July 18 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
