WASHINGTON, July 19 -- Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., has introduced legislation (S. 2146) to "enable incarcerated persons to petition a Federal court for a second look at sentences longer than 10 years, where the person is not a danger to the safety of any person or the community, and has shown they are ready for reentry."
The bill was introduced on July 17. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
