WASHINGTON, July 19 -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 2143) to amend the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 "to expand the eligibility of students to participate in the supplemental nutrition assistance program."
The bill was introduced on July 17 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., and Kamala D. Harris, D-Calif. It was referred to the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee.
