WASHINGTON, April 13 -- Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has introduced legislation (S. 1208) to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 "with respect to payments to certain public safety officers who have become permanently and totally disabled as a result of personal injuries sustained in the line of duty."
The bill was introduced on April 11 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
