WASHINGTON, April 13 -- Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., has introduced legislation (S. 1193) to amend the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 "to extend the period during which certain reclamation fees are required to be paid."
The bill was introduced on April 11 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Doug Jones, D-Ala., Mark R. Warner, D-Va., Tim Kaine, D-Va., Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., and Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio. It was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.< . . .
