WASHINGTON, April 13 -- Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has introduced legislation (S. 1179) to amend the Arctic Research and Policy Act of 1984 "to modify the membership of the Arctic Research Commission, to establish an Arctic Executive Steering Committee."
The bill was introduced on April 11 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska. It was referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
