WASHINGTON, April 13 -- Sen. Richard C. Shelby, R-Ala., has introduced legislation (S. 1145) to "repeal the current Internal Revenue Code and replace it with a flat tax, thereby guaranteeing economic growth and fairness for all Americans."
The bill was introduced on April 11. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
