WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 -- The U.S. Department of Justice announced that it expects to award up to 75 discretionary grants for the maintenance of a sex offender registry.
The estimated total program funding available was cited as $14 million with a ceiling of $400,000 for each award in the program. The agency said the grant was associated with law, justice and legal services.
The funding is open to state, county and Native American tribal governments.
