WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's U.S. Geological Survey announced that it intends to award a $44,995 grant to the University of Arizona for research to understand mechanisms of fire-caused vegetation type conversion in Southwestern conifer forests under current and future climate.
