Sen. Merkley Introduces Resolution on Immediate Release of Unjustly Imprisoned Journalists

WASHINGTON, Sept. 20 -- Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., has introduced a resolution (S.Res. 635) "calling for the immediate release of unjustly imprisoned Myanmar journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, and expressing concern over the overall deterioration in freedom of the press in Myanmar."

The resolution was introduced on Sept. 18 and has 10 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Todd Young, R-Ind., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Christopher Coons, D-Del., Richard J. Dur . . .
