WASHINGTON, Sept. 20 -- Sen. Robert Casey Jr., D-Pa., has introduced legislation (S. 3457) to amend title II of the Social Security Act "to increase survivors benefits for disabled widows, widowers, and surviving divorced spouses."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 18 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., and Patty Murray, D-Wash. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
