WASHINGTON, July 19 -- Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., has introduced legislation (S. 3218) to "allow employers to offer short-term savings accounts with automatic contribution arrangements for financial emergencies."
The bill was introduced on July 17 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Todd Young, R-Ind. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
