WASHINGTON, May 19 -- Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, has introduced legislation (S. 2877) to amend the Wilderness Act to allow local Federal officials "to determine the manner in which nonmotorized uses may be permitted in wilderness areas."
The bill was introduced on May 17. It was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
