WASHINGTON, May 18 -- Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., has introduced legislation (S. 2861) to "prosecute, as a Federal crime, the assault or intimidation of a passenger train crew member to the same extent as such actions against aircraft crew members are prosecuted."
The bill was introduced on May 16 and was co-sponsored by Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D. It was referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
