WASHINGTON, May 18 -- Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., has introduced legislation (S. 2855) "to require the Attorney General to make competitive grants to State, tribal, and local governments to establish and maintain witness protection and assistance programs."
The bill was introduced on May 16. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
