WASHINGTON, May 18 -- Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C. has introduced legislation (S. 2854) to "establish requirements for use of a driver's license or personal identification card by certain financial institutions for opening an account or obtaining a financial product or service."
The bill was introduced on May 16 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., and David Perdue, R-Ga. It was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
