WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 -- Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., has introduced legislation (S. 2446) to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act "to provide for patient protection by establishing safe nurse staffing levels at certain Medicare providers."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 15. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
