WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 -- Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., has introduced legislation (S. 2425) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to repeal the Internal Revenue Service's private debt collection program."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 14 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
