WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 -- Sen. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 2317) to amend the Controlled Substances Act "to provide for additional flexibility with respect to medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorders."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 17 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Margaret Wood Hassan, D-N.H., and Susan M. Collins, R-Maine. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
