WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 -- Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., has introduced legislation (S. 2308) to "provide for the suspension of the eligibility for the Generalized System of Preferences of countries that fail to meet minimum standards for the elimination of human trafficking."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 16 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
