WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 -- Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., has introduced legislation (S. 2307) to "require countries to comply with certain labor standards to be eligible for the Generalized System of Preferences."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 16 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio. It was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
