WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 -- Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., has introduced legislation (S. 2240) to "direct the Election Assistance Commission to carry out a pilot program under which the Commission shall provide funds to local educational agencies for initiatives to provide voter registration information to secondary school students in the 12th grade."
The bill was introduced on Dec. 14 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Mazie K. Hir . . .
