CBC Chairman Issues Statement on SCOTUS Decision

WASHINGTON, May 22 -- The Congressional Black Caucus issued the following statement by Rep. Cedric Richmond on the Supreme Court's decision to strike down two North Carolina congressional districts:

"When the Supreme Court gutted the heart of the Voting Rights Act, the CBC predicted that there would be a race to the bottom among Republican legislatures. These districts in North Carolina are a clear example.
