TAHLEQUAH, Okla., Feb. 17 -- The Cherokee Nation, a federally-recognized Native American tribe, issued the following news release:

After several years of planning and negotiation with the federal government, the Cherokee Nation officially begins construction on the tribe's new 469,000-square-foot health facility. Hundreds turned out for a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, including representatives from state, federal and tribal governments.
