Cherokee Nation Public Health Leader Given National Honor

TAHLEQUAH, Okla., Sept. 27 -- The Cherokee Nation, a federally-recognized Native American tribe, issued the following news release:

Cherokee Nation's Senior Director of Public Health Lisa Pivec was honored with an area impact award by the National Indian Health Board earlier this month.

The NIHB honored Pivec for advancing American Indian health in Indian Country during an awards dinner Sept. 21 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
