Tribal Council Extends Support to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe

AKWESASNE, N.Y., Aug. 23 -- The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, a federally-recognized Native American tribe, issued the following news release:

For the past week; more than 1,500 environmentalists, tribal members and other supporters have made their way to Cannon Ball, North Dakota to show their support for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline.
