WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 -- Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has introduced legislation (S. 2127) to "award a Congressional Gold Medal, collectively, to the United States merchant mariners of World War II, in recognition of their dedicated and vital service during World War II."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 15 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and Thad Cochran, R-Miss. It was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committe . . .
