WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 -- The Government Accountability Office has issued a report on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' oversight of Medicare Part D opioid use and prescribing. The report (GAO-18-15) is titled "Prescription Opioids: Medicare Needs to Expand Oversight Efforts to Reduce the Risk of Harm".
The report was sent to Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., chairman of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Health Care, and Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., on Oct. 6. Here are excerpts of summ . . .
