WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that it intends to award a $2.3 million cooperative agreement to the Uganda Virus Research Institute for strengthening capacity through improved management and coordination of laboratory, surveillance, epidemiology, validation and training under the President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief.
