WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., has introduced legislation (S. 1820) to "provide for the retention and service of transgender members of the Armed Forces."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 14 and was co-sponsored by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., Susan M. Collins, R-Maine, and Jack Reed, D-R.I. It was referred to the Senate Armed Services Committee.
