WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Sen. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 1815) to "require data brokers to establish procedures to ensure the accuracy of collected personal information."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 14 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Al Franken, D-Minn., and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. It was referred to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
