WASHINGTON, July 20 -- Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, R-Utah, has introduced legislation (S. 1572) to amend the Mineral Leasing Act "to provide that extraction of helium from gas produced under a Federal mineral lease shall maintain the lease as if the helium were oil and gas."
The bill was introduced on July 18. It was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
