WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 -- Sen. Christopher Coons, D-Del., has introduced legislation (S. 405) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and the Higher Education Act of 1965 "to provide an exclusion from income for student loan forgiveness for students who have died or become disabled."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 16 and has 12 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Angus S. King Jr., I-Maine, Rob Portman, R-Ohio, Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., Richard Blumentha . . .
