WASHINGTON, May 16 -- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., has introduced legislation (S. 3181) to amend title 10 of the U.S. Code to "require a plan to ensure the military leadership of the Armed Forces reflects the diversity of the population of the U.S."
The bill was introduced on May 15 and is co-sponsored by Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md.
The legislation was referred to the Senate Armed Services Committee.
