More Awareness of Indigent Defense Funds Could Be Useful, GAO Concludes

WASHINGTON, May 15 -- A number of grant programs that could have been used to support indigent defense efforts have not been used by state and local governments in part because they were unaware the money could have been used for that purpose, the Government Accountability Office revealed.
