WASHINGTON, May 15 -- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said a competitive rebid for durable medical equipment that began in 2008 resulted in a savings of more than $200 million to the government the first year, the Government Accountability Office revealed.
In a report titled, "Medicare: Review of the First Year of CMS's Durable Medical Equipment Competitive Bidding Program's Round 1 Rebid" (Report No. GAO-12-693) the GAO said that the rebid was done after a law term . . .
