WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 -- Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., has introduced legislation (S. 2128) to amend the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 to "clarify that all veterans programs are exempt from sequestration."
The bill was introduced on Feb. 17 and is co-sponsored by Sens. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, and Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H.
The legislation was referred to the Senate Budget Committee.
