WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 -- The U.S. Coast Guard has failed to meet a critical component of a law designed to keeps ports across the nation safe from terrorist activities, the Government Accountability Office revealed.
In a report titled, "Maritime Security: Coast Guard Needs to Improve Use and Management of Interagency Operations Centers" (Report No. GAO-12-202) the GAO said it was a requirement of the Coast Guard to establish Interagency Operations Centers at high-priority ports by 2 . . .
