WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 -- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., has introduced legislation (S. 2034) to "impose sanctions with respect to human rights abuses committed against the people of Syria."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 24 and is co-sponsored by Sens. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., and Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
The legislation was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
