WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 -- Benchmarks used to assess the success of grant programs seeking to help immigrants become naturalized citizens may not have used the best indicators of success, the Government Accountability Office revealed.
In a report titled, "Immigrant Integration: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Could Better Assess Its Grant Program" (Report No. GAO-12-274) the GAO said key factors included the number of immigrants enrolled in naturalization preparation program . . .
